A few weeks ago Eden was sleeping and Chepe realized that Lily was not where he left her. So, he went on the hunt for her. Turns out she crawled into the playroom, turned on the TV, and was sitting in Eden's little couch watching Winnie the Pooh. Cool with Chepe because this gave him a break.
Tonight we are gearing up for bed time and Lily crawls over to Eden's radio and pushes play to start the lullabye CD without any help. I do not know why I am surprised because we bought that radio/cd player for Eden when she turned one and she quickly learned how to control it back then, so it is right on track for Lily to know what buttons to push. Seems as though Chepe's techie-ness is a bit genetic. Cool with me because it sometimes helps give me a break too.

Two Steps!
I think it is official that we have a walker on our hands. Today Lily got up the courage to let go and took two steps towards me. It was super cute because the look on her face showed just how excited and proud she was of herself. I felt bad that Chepe missed out on it, so I ran to get him and tried to get her to do it again. She sort of did it again, but you could tell she was on to us and would lunge toward our hands. I missed Eden's first steps and Chepe saw those, so I guess we are even now.
Throughout the day I saw her take a few more steps here and there. Always about two before she would loose her balance and either grab on to something or squat down for safety. Eden saw Lily take a few steps and insisted they dance to celebrate. A few ballroom style steps later all ended with a bonk on the head for Lily.
Give Lily a few weeks and I am sure she will be prancing around the house with big sissy with no problems at all. Oh, Momma! Soon we will be a house with two toddlers...should I pull my hair out now or later?

Band-aids
The band-aid stage has hit our house :o(
These days if Eden pinches her finger in her sunglasses...she needs a band-aid.
If she gets a paper cut...she needs a band-aid.
If she bumps her hip on the corner of the couch...she needs a band-aid.
If she is tired...she needs a band-aid.
Funny because before she was scared of them, then just generally disliked them, and recently would pull them off after a few minutes, but now they are a necessity to be able to function throughout the day. Yesterday she told me she had a fever and needed a band-aid ASAP. She was fine and most certainly did not need a band-aid; there was no fever, no illness, and no owie that needed attending.
I have tried to explain to her that band-aids only help certain types of owies, but she seems to think that if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction a band-aid will come to her rescue and redirect the gusts.
A few nights ago I thought I would teach her a lesson. She had a scratch on her ankle that was a few days old and already scabbed up. She was insisting she most definitely needed a band-aid even after I explained that scabs were natures band-aids. So, instead of getting her a regular one I got a big ol' gauze patch out with a roll of medical tape and I taped up her entire foot since it the gauze patch was so big. I thought she would freak, but instead she gave a sigh of relief once she was mended and turned in for the night. Ha, the joke was on me! My plan totally back fired and then kept back firing throughout the night. Apparently I did not do a good enough taping job and as it started to come unstuck in her sleep Eden would wake up just enough to cry about her band aid coming off and how she needed it so desperately to stay on. Simply ridiculous in my book!
So, for now we are going with the band-aid phase as long as it is a owie that will benefit from the aid. I have had to resolve to pick my battles with this one and leave it up to Chepe to divvy out the band-aids. And, we absolutely will not have fancy ones with princesses or Sponge Bob in our house to complicate things any further in regards to this newest three year old trend.

Houston, we have 'poop'!
Last week I started working with Lily on letting us know when she has poop. Before changing her poopiness I would point to her stinky booty and say 'poop'. Then while changing her diaper I would say 'poop' and talk to her about her poopie diaper. Moments ago she crawled over to me with a diaper and said 'poop' clear as day. I asked her if she had poop and she pointed to her bottom and said it again. If you ask Chepe he will say it was him who made this happen, but now the *bloggerdom* knows the real honest truth of the matter. So there! :o)

Happy Halloween Little Mermaid Style!
Last year the day after Halloween she proclaimed that she would be Ariel next year. She did not waiver one iota, so we followed her lead and dressed as Prince Eric, Ursula, Ariel, and Andrina. She had wanted Lily to be Flounder, but I directed her to having a sister mermaid instead.

Happy Anniversary Honey Bunny!
Despite today being one heck of a day it was wonderful because it marked us being together for nine years. You are correct in saying it was the best decision I could have made in marrying you, especially since no one but me got the joke from what we can tell. I get you and whether you admit it on facebook or not it was your best decision too.
Love you 'this much'!
